![]() ![]() I can't think of any obvious memories that are really 'happy' (although given some time I think I could probably come up with memories of events that objectively seem like they would be happy?). ![]() My childhood memories are also mostly unemotional. They're not complex or detailed, for example I couldn't tell a timeline of a particular event (like being able to say "at my 7th birthday party we ate chocolate cake and then opened presents and then played in the bouncy castle" - I can just say "at some point there was a birthday party that involved a bouncy castle"). Below the age of maybe twelve, those memories are mostly kind of sensory 'flashes' - a particular scene or visual, smells, a brief exchange or snip of conversation. I have scattered memories of some notable events (birthday parties, illnesses and injuries, holidays). I don't know how much of that really counts as memory of childhood, and how much is just memory of me making the timeline repeatedly throughout life. I can tell a factual story of my general timeline (where I lived, when I moved house, what schools I went to). I've never previously thought that I lack memory of my childhood.
